About The Event
Background and summary of contents
The aim of the 2-year PARTES project has been to develop a comprehensive prevention model for the protection of places of worship (PoW) that is evidence-based, inclusive and participatory. As acknowledged early on in the project, in order to effectively combat the security threats posed to PoW, it is essential to understand the underlying violent extremist phenomenon and its concrete manifestations in relation to these targets; involve faith-based communities in policies and measures; and educate the broader population with regard to toxic extremist rhetoric but also the features and manifestations of various faiths. This final event of PARTES contextualises its findings on the extremist threat landscape in Europe, prevention environments and counter-measures with related projects and research initiatives.
