FINAL EVENT
On 16 June 2025, the final event of the PARTES project took place in Vienna (with a YouTube livestream) under the title “Protecting Places of Worship in Context and Beyond – Mapping Hate, Developing Responses.”
The conference brought together researchers, security experts, and representatives from faith communities across 15 European organisations to present and discuss the project’s flagship outcome - the Guardian Approach, a holistic framework combining physical security, cyber resilience, community involvement, psychosocial support, financial robustness, training, and collaborative partnerships.
The video link below is the full recording of that final conference. It begins with an overview of the Guardian Approach, followed by two deep-dive session blocks: the first explores digital threats and examines how toxic extremist narratives are spread online and may manifest in real-world harm. The second investigates physical protection, detailing case studies of attacks on religious sites, presenting tools like PROSPERES and SOAR, and highlighting co-designed prevention strategies developed jointly by security authorities and faith communities.
Whether you missed the event or wish to revisit key segments, this recording offers a comprehensive look at how the PARTES project addressed emerging threats and charted paths toward safer, more resilient places of worship. A playlist with time-stamped chapters will help you locate specific discussions
